Here is the text of the law of October 14, 1941 (official journal for October 21) concerning the oath of allegiance to the President which will be taken by ambassadors and consuls.

We, Marshal of France, President of the French people, on the advice of the Admiral of our fleet, Chief Minister of State, on the authority of clause X of our new constitution of October 4, 1941 decree as follows:

"The necessity of taking the oath of allegiance to the President, as required by article I of clause VII, can, by articles 2-5, be extended by a later law to those to whom clauses VII-IX and our decree of July 14, 1941, do not apply, so that no one in charge of the public service will be exempt."
