My telegramme ... ... . In telegrammes Nos. 901-6 I have given Your Excellency the reactions which have been provoked in the American press by the aerial bombing of the Paris region by the British.

Before going in to see M. CORNELL HULL this morning the reporters accredited to the State Department appeared particularly anxious to learn my reactions on recent events. I (avoided?) all comment on the "..." and I (referred?) my questioners to the declaration made by the Marshal. The numerous correspondents who questioned me seemed particularly anxious to learn what political repercussions the bombings might give rise to.

M. CORNELL HULL, who made the comments passed on to you in my telegramme already referred to, also appeared concerned over the consequences of the English
